Tributes flow for "kind hearted"
Paudie
28.01.08
TRIBUTES have been
pouring in following the tragic and sudden death of
a well known taxi driver in Buncrana. Paudie Taylor,
a Dubliner who had been living in the seaside town
for many years, died tragically on Thursday. |

The separated
father-of-three, who was known by his distinctive
blonde ponytail and beard, was described yesterday
as a "gentle soul" who would do anything to help
people. He got to know many locals through operating
a taxi, although friends say he hadn't driven his
taxi since last summer.
He had been staying in recent weeks at the home of
his friend Don McNeill in the Pairc na hAluine
estate, Magherinture. A clearly shaken Mr. McNeill
said: "This is a terrible and tragic loss for
Paudie's family. He was a lovely man and will be
sadly missed by us all. |
"I would go so far as
to say that I wouldn't know of one person in
Buncrana who could say a bad word about Paudie. He
was a very thoughtful, kind-hearted and deep
person," added Mr. McNeil, a Newfoundlander living
in the town for more than 13 years. Another friend,
Terence Coyle said people in the town who knew the
devoted father were visibly shocked and upset by his
untimely death.
"He was a beautiful person from start to finish. He
was very kind and compassionate. It's very sad
what's happened," he said.
Scores of people have been calling to pay their last
respects at the wake held in the Clonglash home of
his social worker wife, Miriam Killeney and their
three children, Tadhg, 25, Ruth, 18 and Niall 16.
Paudie, who is originally from the Ballsbridge area
of Dublin is also survived by his six sisters and
two brothers. He will be laid to rest this morning
after 11am Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Chapel,
Cockhill. For death notice,
