'Let's give Moville a good spring
clean'
27.02.08
DONEGAL County
Councillor Marian McDonald has called on all
residents of Moville and surrounding areas to get
involved in this year's 'National Spring Clean'.
The Moville-based councillor called for an even
bigger effort this year - the tenth anniversary of
National Spring Clean.
"I'm calling on everyone to get involved and in
particular all secondary and primary schools,
environmental groups, sporting groups and residents
associations. |
"This year I hope to
see an all out effort to help Moville improve on its
Tidy Town marks, given that Moville is a Heritage
town," said Cllr. McDonald.
She said with Moville being dependent on tourism and
already being one of the cleanest towns in
Inishowen, everyone needed "to keep the standard
up".
"Through the Heart Project of which I am an active
member, there are now 20 extra bins in the town,
with a number of new picnic tables, benches, summer
seats and |

signposts to follow.
"We want to place a key emphasis on the importance
of recycling. Once again the clean up kits will
contain colour-coded bags, gloves, pickers and a
skips will be provided in a number of locations in
the town and a date will be set for April. I have
also been lobbying the recycling officer to have the
bins removed from the car park to a better
location," she added.
Cllr. McDonald invited anyone to contact herself or
any other member of the local Tidy Town committee if
they wanted to take part.
"It's crucial that we continue to educate our
communities about their responsibilities in making
their areas a cleaner place to live," she said. |
