YOU might see a man
walking around Inishowen later this week with a
donkey on his back.
But don't worry. Aussie Tim Goodacre, is making an
ass of himself all in a good cause.
He's undertaking a charity walk from Mizen Head to
Malin Head to raise funds for a donkey sanctuary in
Cork.
And there's an added challenge to the mission. The
25-year old and his toy friend 'Asal' are stopping
in every bar along the way.
The unlikely pair have visited 140 pubs since
starting the challenge at Mizen Head, Cork, 35 days
ago. Tim, who was in Sligo yesterday, is likely to
drink a pint or two at Farren's and the Seaview
Tavern when he arrives at Ireland's most northerly
point.
"Each time I stop at a pub, I ask the barman to
recommend another worthwhile pub," he said,
estimating that he's had more than 100 pints since
starting out.
"I will sometimes order just a half-pint to make
sure I can make it to the next pub." |
