Burt prepares for tragic
triple funeral 27.04.07
The village of Burt is
preparing for the return today of the remains of
Ciara Dunne and her two little daughters Leanne and
Shania. |
|
An agreement was
reached on Wednesday between the O'Brien and Dunne
families that Ciara and her children would be
returned to her native Inishowen, to be buried.
It's understood the triple funeral will take place
on Sunday, though this still has to be confirmed.
The bodies of Ciara, 24, her husband, Adrian, 29,
and their two children, aged |
five and three, were
found at their Wexford bungalow on Monday. It is
understood Adrian will be buried tomorrow in
Boolavogue, Co. Wexford. His mother is said to have
expressed a wish to attend the funerals of her
daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Burt.
Donegal North East T.D., Dr. James McDaid, a friend
of the O'Brien family, clarified recent comments he
made about the O'Brien family's concerns for their
daughter. |
He told RTÉ yesterday
that when Ciara's mother was in Wexford in the
recent past, she had spoken with a Garda, a nurse
and a priest in relation to concerns she had about
her daughter's welfare. However, she had not made an
official or written complaint.
Dr. McDaid had claimed Ciara was a vulnerable and
impressionable young woman and that her husband
Adrian was the dominant partner in the relationship. |
|
Meanwhile, the wedding
tomorrow of Ciara's uncle, millionaire developer and
hotelier P.J. McDermott, to fiancée Natasha Nic
Gairbeith has been postponed. It was scheduled to
take place in Natasha's native west Donegal followed
by a reception at the developer's recently opened An
Grianan Hotel, Burt. Mr. McDermott was yesterday
assisting his sister, Marian and her husband, also
P.J., with the burial arrangements. |
