A NEW coastal walk will
be officially launched on Thursday at Inishowen Head
near Shroove.
The 'Inishowen Head Walk' or 'Slí Ceann Inis Eoghain'
is a joint venture between Donegal County Council
and the North East Inishowen Development Company
Ltd.
It will offer ramblers of varying degrees of fitness
a stunning hill walk from Shroove, that will afford
them views of Scotland on a clear day.
Meanwhile, the county is to get three 'loop walks'
with the help of €159,251 funding as part of a new
€700,000 tourism package.
It will help create nine tourism projects throughout
the county that will include cycling, walking and
angling facilties.
As part of the measures, Ballyshannon is set to
become a 'hub cycle route' while angling facilities
will receive grants of up to €143,186.
As part of the same scheme, €83,220 will go towards
environmental infrastructure works throughout the
county. |
