VOTING gets underway
this evening in a poll to elect six community
representatives to Inishowen’s new funding and
development company.
A total of 24 candidates are contesting the seats on
the board of the company - formed with the merger
the Inishowen Partnership Company and Inishowen
Rural Development Limited.
More than 200 organisations have registered voters
to cast ballots on their behalf tonight beginning at
7pm at Carndonagh Public Services Centre.
These voters are reminded they must have photo ID
with them such as a driving licence or passport.
"Ballot papers will only be given out to registered
voters and the ballot boxes close at 10pm," said a
spokesperson.
The election will be by Proportional Representation
and will be overseen by Donegal County Council. The
local authority will also conduct the count, which
starts at 10am on Friday, November 9. For a full
