DONEGAL campaigners for
better cancer services say a new free publication
will be an important guidebook for patients and
families on their journey "from diagnosis to
recovery".
Donegal Action for Cancer Care (DACC) say the book,
'You Are Not Alone' was written to help sufferers
understand the changes that can happen in their life
and assist them and their family to deal with their
feelings about cancer. |
It will be officially
launched next Monday, September 24th, 2007, in the
Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, at 8pm.
Produced by the DACC action strategy sub-committee
and funded and supported by the Citizens'
Information Board, the book provides an easy-to-read
source of information presented in common everyday
language that makes it easy to understand.
"The book also provides useful tips and hints from
medical experts and also by people who have already
travelled this road and who can share the experience
with others," said action |

strategy sub-committee
PRO, Mary McCallion. "It outlines the considerable
supports, financial and other, that are available
and in general terms gives information as to how
these can be availed of by providing contact
information."
While primarily aimed at Donegal patients, it will
be useful to patients nationwide and will be
available after the launch, from DACC and many other
outlets such as doctors' surgeries, hospitals and
cancer support groups.
Everyone is invited to join with DACC at next week's
launch. |
