Fullerton honoured in Buncrana 28.09.07

INISHOWEN Sinn Féin will honour their murdered colleague, Eddie Fullerton, tomorrow at the official opening of their new offices in Buncrana.
Senator Pearse Doherty will cut the ribbon to the new offices at West End - above An Tuath Nua bar - while Diana Fullerton will officially open the 'Eddie Fullerton Room' in memory of her late husband.
The late Eddie Fullerton. Sinn Féin Inis Eoghain chairperson, Tony Doherty said his party was the first to open a permanent office in the peninsula.
He said the move was in recognition of the huge amount of votes received by Dail candidate Cllr. Padraig MacLochlainn who narrowly failed to win a seat in May.
"We felt we had to demonstrate clearly to the people of Inishowen that we are here to stay and that we are more determined than ever to represent those thousands of people who put their trust in us. The opening of our office is a clear signal of our intent," he said.
Mr. Doherty said Eddie Fullerton's memory continued to influence the party's work on the ground.
"His memory continues to inspire us and I am pleased to confirm that his widow, Diana, will do us the honour of officially opening the room.
"From that point on, it will be a resource for the party members and for local residents groups who can rent the room for their meetings, free of charge," he said.
The opening takes place on September 29th, at 12.30pm with music and a light buffet afterwards in the An Tuath Nua bar. All welcome.
