A BURNFOOT teenager who
was buried last week was kicked in the head around
15 times, the North's High Court has heard.
Liam Devlin, 19, from The Cottages, Burnfoot, died

A bail application by
Sean Cruickshank was adjourned by the High Court at
the weekend while the judge rejected a bail
application by Edward McEleney, 20, from Circular
Road in the city. During the application, the court
was told that Liam Devlin, suffered 15 kicks to the
head during an assault. He later died of his
injuries.
There was a large turn-out for his funeral on
Thursday. The young construction worker and avid
Glasgow Celtic supporter, was described as a 'lovely
young fella' who liked nothing better |
than travelling around
Inishowen and Derry in his beloved blue Corsa. His
car was driven in front of the hearse as the cortege
made its way to St. Aengus Church, Burt for Requiem
Mass while the keys to the vehicle were among the
gifts taken to the altar by his heartbroken sisters.
In his homily to mourners, local curate Fr. Michael
Porter said the deceased man's mother and father,
Liam and Helen, were going through "every parent's
worst nightmare". Liam was laid to rest at Burt
Cemetery. |
