BUNCRANA Town
Councillor Daren Lalor has been elected chairperson
of the Donegal Sinn Féin elected representatives'
forum.
The forum of thirteen people meets monthly and
agrees the issues that the party's elected
representatives will highlight in the following
weeks and months at county and national level.
Senator Pearse Doherty, four county councillors,
five town councillors and Udarás na Gaeltachta
member, Grainne Mhic Éidigh participate in the
forum.
It also includes the county chairperson, secretary
and organiser of the party in the county.
Cllr Pádraig MacLochlainn said the election of
Councillor Daren Lalor is an acknowledgement by his
leadership ability and his well earned reputation
for hard work.
"I have been privileged to serve the public
alongside Daren for a number of years now and I know
better than anyone the dedication he brings to his
work. He is a committed republican in the spirit of
1916 and always leads by example.
"He now has responsibility for ensuring that our
party move forward in a focused and strategic
fashion and that our elected reps identify the
issues of importance to local people and work to
resolve them. I have no doubt that he is up to the
challenge," said Councillor MacLochlainn. |
