A Buncrana
multi-millionaire has gone shopping for another
addition to his massive portfolio of international
investments.
Pat Doherty’s Harcourt Developments is currently in
negotiations to buy a luxury hotel and golf resort
in the Bahamas.
The group, which includes Doherty’s business
partner, former RTE host Mike Murphy, are in talks
to acquire the 427-acre Royal Oasis resort in the
Bahamas.
It is already developing a luxury waterfront complex
in Grand Bahama and controls the sumptuous Carlisle
Bay hotel in Antigua. Harcourt Developments also
owns 600 acres of beachfront land in Tobago,
according to the SBP. The move to buy the Royal
Oasis follows plans unveiled last year to build an
€800m residential complex in Las Vegas.
Harcourt’s other international projects include
developments in Montenegro and Latvia.
And the company is already in the process of
developing the Titanic Quarter in Belfast.
Doherty’s local interests include the Lough Swilly
Bus Company and the Carlton Redcastle Hotel and
Thalasso Spa. |
