Countdown to '10,001 Santas'
27.11.07
INISHOWEN Children's
Autism Related Education (iCARE) is urging people to
sign up as soon as possible for the '10,001 Santas'
challenge in Derry on December 9. |
The aim is to gather
10,001 men, women and children, all dressed up as
Santa, for a short sponsored walk of the Derry City
Walls. The challenge is to beat the world record for
the most Santas gathered in one place while raising
much-needed funds for charity.
iCARE is one of four charities chosen to benefit
from the fun-filled event and |
|
each stands to get up
to £25,000/€35,000 if the challenge is successful.
The other three chosen charities are the Foyle
Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Care and Children in
Crossfire.
iCARE has been running a '10,001 Santas' shop in
Buncrana since November 19 to get as many Santas as
possible signed up. People can register and collect
their Santa suits in the shop, located next door to
Abrakebabra. If you would like more details, please
contact iCARE on 086 1081200. |
