VETERAN fundraisers
Martha and John Steele are preparing to adorn their
home with thousands of Christmas lights for charity.
The big-hearted couple from Gulladuff, Moville, hope
their popular fundraiser will this year put
much-needed cash into the coffers of the East
Inishowen Special Needs Company Ltd., who hope to
build a sheltered complex for people with
intellectual disability.
"The charity is deserving of everyone’s help and is
vital to help many families with such needs in
Inishowen," explained John. "This new project will
be a great boost to the town of Moville and
Inishowen in general."
The Steeles are hopeful that hundreds will come and
view their spectacular display throughout their home
and garden. Individuals, groups and organisations
are invited to visit and have a cup of tea
afterwards in the log cabin.
"A large amount of work goes into the setting up of
the lights. In fact it took 260 man hours last year
to get everything in place," added John.
"After so much work and effort it would encourage us
greatly if the public would support this event and
we can give the very worthy cause a good cheque in
January to help with their centre.
"We look forward to seeing plenty of happy faces at
the light show this Christmas." |
